The Development Evaluation Unit of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland launched an open-access online platform called OpenEval in June 2025. It uses AI and large language models (LLMs) to search, filter and summarize textual evidence from development evaluation reports. Join us to hear more about what this tool is about, why the unit decided to develop this tool and what kinds of uses and benefits such tools can offer!
After a short presentation of the tool, two experts, Shivit Bakrania (Senior Evaluation Synthesis Specialist, Independent Evaluation Office, UNDP) and Annika Kaipola (Senior Advisor, Unit for Project Management, MFA Finland) will share their reflections on what potential such tools hold for evaluation and project management processes among others.
