3ie is pleased to host the members’ webinar organised in collaboration with the Government for the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (3ie member) and Instiglio, a results-based financing advisory firm based in Bogota, Colombia.
Impact bonds, a financial investment designed to involve investors in international development projects, are increasingly a more important financing mechanism for international development projects and programs. Over 20 impact bonds have been either launched or are in development in low- and middle-income countries. The key to impact bonds’ effectiveness is in rigorous evidence, such as impact evaluation, both for the construction of terms for payment based on results and the evaluation of those results for payment to investors.
The presentations will provide a primer on impact bonds, results-based financing, and how impact evaluations can be used in their construction and evaluation. We will highlight the City of Buenos Aires’ experience in the early stages of designing their impact bond on increasing youth employability followed by a question and answer session.
