Building on the foundation of its previous editions, the 6th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum will bring a sharper focus on learning from action towards climate resilience development. Resilience provides a unifying theme this year, as it describes the desired end-point of adaptation applicable to natural, human, economic and engineered systems.
The Forum, the flagship event of the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN), is the primary regional platform for adaptation practitioners to meet, share their learning and experiences, and work together towards the pertinent outcomes and practical solutions that are needed to properly address the challenges of climate change. This year, policymakers, scientists, donors, youth, and business representatives from over 50 countries will gather once again, to share, learn from each other, and scale up on action and practical information on mature adaptation approaches, successful technologies and programmes.
The 6th APAN Forum will be hosted by the Climate Change Commission, Republic of the Philippines, the Government of the Republic of Palau, and the Asian Development Bank. This key event on 17-19 October will anchor the 2018 APAN Resilience Week (15-19 October 2018) and will be held at the ADB Headquarters, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines.
