The UK Evaluation Society 2026 conference will bring together lively discussions, innovative ideas, cutting-edge research, and insights on the latest trends. Taking place as a hybrid event, it opens with online sessions on 18 May, followed by in-person sessions at Sheffield City Hall from the afternoon of 19 May until end of the day on 21 May.
How do we make sure evaluation leads to real-world change?
That’s the central question of our 2026 conference, Bridging the gap: evaluation to action. Across three themes, we’ll be exploring how evaluation can shape decisions, build cultures of learning, and communicate findings in ways that inspire action.

Event Details
The European Evaluation Society Conference 2026 (EES 2026) will be held in Lille, France, from 26 to 30 October 2026, with Professional Development Workshops taking place on 26–27 October and the main conference running from 28–30 October.
The theme of the conference is “Evaluation for Vibrant Democracies: New Methods, Systemic Learning, and Responsiveness”.
Why Evaluation for Vibrant Democracies?
Democracy – built on rights, freedoms, and accountability – is under pressure worldwide. Polarization, declining trust, and rising populism challenge governance in Europe and across the world. Evaluation which is grounded in evidence, transparency and ethical standards, can play a vital role in strengthening democratic systems by informing decisions, amplifying diverse voices, and fostering public trust.
