The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is planning to evaluate the project ‘Advancing Justice and Human Rights in Syria (2020-2022)’. This evaluation will be conducted between 15 September 2022 and 15 March 2023.

In this regard, we are recruiting two external consultants (one Senior evaluator, one evaluator), according to the following profile:

Senior Evaluator

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, economics, or related field. A first level university degree in combination with a qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience conducting assessments, reviews or evaluations of projects, programs or policies in the UN or international context.
  • Experience in human rights or related field (humanitarian assistance, peace operations).
  • Fluency in oral and written English. Fluency in Arabic highly desirable.
  • Experience working in Syria or the Middle East region is required.
  • Knowledge of integration of human rights and gender perspectives in evaluations.
  • Knowledge of OHCHR and the UN System is desirable.

Evaluator

  • Experience working in Syria or the Middle East region is required.
  • Knowledge of integration of human rights and gender perspectives in evaluations.
  • Knowledge of OHCHR and the UN System is desirable.
